On 10 October, a meeting was held organized by REDRESS, the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (INP PAN), and International Accountability for Belarus. It was a Poland Universal Jurisdiction Working Group meeting. Izabela Trybus represented the foundation, which, as part of the Coalition for Victims, Survivors, and Witnesses, is a member of the group.
A particularly important aspect of the meeting was the emphasis placed on a survivor support, based on the principles of the Survivor-Centered Approach. Ann Michels shared her expertise on supporting survivors throughout judicial proceedings.
The meeting focused on:
- UJ developments in Poland
- Work of specialised war crimes units within police and prosecution
- Trauma-informed approach and supporting victims in UJ proceedings
